Friday 2 August, 1-2pm
Social Sciences Lecture Theatre (201N-346)
10 Symonds Street, University of Auckland
Join New Zealand’s Representatives to the United Nations and key international organisations to hear how New Zealand is addressing the “wicked problems”* we face at the UN and globally; seizing emerging international opportunities and ultimately making a difference in the world.
From climate change, to nuclear disarmament, countering violent extremism (including through the Christchurch Call), human rights (including our own scorecard after being assessed this year by the Human Rights Council and UN Members), and to international space policy, the panel will provide insights into New Zealand’s priorities in an increasingly complex multilateral system.
*(Prime Minister Ardern, UN General Assembly 2018)

Craig Hawke New Zealand’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York
Jillian Dempster New Zealand’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva
